As part of the City's commitment to finding housing solutions for people experiencing homelessness, the Department of City Planning recently released two draft ordinances:
Permanent Support Housing (PSH)
The ordinance would establish a set of standardized criteria and definitions for PSH and remove regulatory barriers that impair the construction of new PSH. Click here to view the draft ordinance.
Interim Motel Conversion
The ordinance would more easily allow existing motels and hotels to be retrofitted and temporarily utilized for supportive and transitional housing. Click here to view the draft ordinance.
A series of information sessions are scheduled. The Westside session is Tuesday, September 12, 6:30-8:30 pm at VCH Apartments (13368 Beach Avenue, Los Angeles 90292.
Please submit comments on both draft ordinances by October 30, 2017 in order to have them included in the Department's staff report for City Planning Commission consideration. Comments submitted after this time should be directed to the City Planning Commission (firstname.lastname@example.org).
