Transportation, Infrastructure & Sustainability Committee

MISSION STATEMENT

The Transportation, Infrastructure & Sustainability Committee serves as the policy advisory body to the Mar Vista Community Council on transportation, infrastructure, and sustainability issues that concern and/or impact the Mar Vista community. The committee's goal is to promote community input and involvement on these issues, and to provide input to the MVCC Board regarding:

(a) redress of issues raised by the community regarding traffic, transportation, infrastructure,and sustainability, and

(b) the development of area planning strategies for transportation, infrastructure, and sustainability, in cooperation and coordination with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), other organizations, and stakeholders that will enhance the quality of life for all in the Mar Vista community.
 
 

This committee meets monthly, and may hold additional meetings. All attending Stakeholders are voting members of the committee. The public is welcome to make comment during the Public Comment period. Check our Calendar for meeting days/times and the agenda. There will only be a meeting if an agenda has been posted 72 hours beforehand.

Residential Speed Hump Program

The Residential Speed Hump Program is still reviewing 2022 applicants and expects construction to start summer 2023. They are currently not accepting new applications for speed humps. If you would like to apply for speed humps, the next open application day will be in the fall of 2023. Check for updates on their webpage.

MY LA 311 

You can report street and sidewalk related issues to Streets LA (Bureau of Street Services) on the city's 311 website. These include:

  • Pothole - Small Asphalt Repair
  • Street Problem/Repair includes: Barricade Removal, Bus Pad/Landing, Curb Repair, Flooding, General Street Inspection (i.e. StreetsLA Public Toilets), Guard/Warning Rail Maintenance, Gutter Repair, Land/Mudslide, Pothole, Sidewalk Repair and Street Sweeping
  • Sidewalk Repair includes: Apply for Access Requests, the Rebate Program or Report a Sidewalk Problem

Mar Vista Community Council committee meetings have now resumed as in-person gatherings. 

All committee meetings are held at their regular day of the month and time unless notified otherwise.
